What it is

B Fit B Hydrated is a program created in partnership with Rebecca Sias, who won the Girl Scout Gold Award for this program. It aims to help students at the elementary school level learn the importance and benefits of hydration.

How it works

We work with coaches at elementary schools, supplying them with informational materials including infographics, videos, and charts to make it easy for it to be a coach-led program. We provide water bottles to each student to go along with water-intake tracking charts. Students who complete all four weeks receive a prize at the end of the period.

Why it’s important

This program is important because while fitness is very much encouraged, proper hydration is too often overlooked. This factor, along with the impact of extreme heat in areas like El Paso, often leads to dehydration and its consequences. A lot of common ailments, such as fatigue or headache, could be resolved by simply drinking more water. B Hydrated seeks to encourage students to take a more active approach to their health and wellbeing starting at a young age.

Why is it important to B HYDRATED? It helps regulate body temperature, improves cognitive function, increases energy, protects from heat exhaustion, and helps your body get rid of waste
